Probably the connection is this way: I was checking my twitter and I saw ROOKiEZ stuff retweeting about SPYAIR, so I went and checked out their songs. From their single [Beautiful Days], I jumped to another few videos and then I saw this name; ONE OK ROCK - [Answer is Near]. My thoughts at that time were some thing like this, "One Ok Rock... Ok ke?" Basically translate to, 'One Ok Rock, are their songs ok as how their name seems to claim?' and so... see answer below.

Here's their history... cut short.
The band was active since 2005.
Toru~ a high school student then and was also originally from a hip hop group called Heads wanted to create a band so he asked Ryota who was also from Heads to join and asked him to ask Alex to join in as well. Toru... this fella is persistent. The 3 of them attended a underground band gig and there was where they got to know Taka who was the vocals for a cover band. I say Toru is persistent because when he heard Taka's voice he instantly decided that Taka will be the vocalist of his band. From an interview by JaME World, Taka -when asked about how he decided to join the band- he said that Toru went as far as going to his part time job to ask Taka to sing for his band. Well, Taka gave in at the end. Haha!
Tomoya joined the band in 2007 when the band debuted. He has been playing for the band in every album before so its kind of go figure kind of thing that he joined the band. Glad he did, I see him as the crazy one in the band. Then again, they all act crazy~ *see their blog posts* Haha~!
So how does the name ON OK ROCK came by? Simple, during the time before they performed their first show, the always practiced at 1 o'clock at night on weekends because they were still in school at that time. So, since they wanted to perform they need a name for their band so they took the name One O'clock as their band's name.
Still don't get it... ONE OK ROCK... One O'clock?
Heeee~ In Japanese language, there's no distinction between the letter 'L' and the letter 'R'. So they decided to change the 'L' in the o'clock to o'crock which sounds like O'krock which then turned into ONE OK ROCK. Get the picture? :D

What happened to him? 2008! He was involved in case where he's drunk-slash-grope a female prep school student. Right. It might be serious to them but... seriously? O.O
But it has happened so nothing can be done about the past. The matter has been resolved peacefully but he still left the band. Though I'm not sure whether it was on his own accord or the management company's decision. He was one of the first members of the band... I bet he is a good friend of Toru and Ryota~ *sadface*
His current is status: Unknown. Hope he's doing well~
So, what else should I talk about these guys? Taka was a part of the group NEWS when he was young but he decided to drop that because he wanted to concentrate on his studies; among the reason he gave actually. His parents are singers so, I guess we all know where he gets that natural talent of his. He is awesome during lives too! He never really listened to rock before he joined the band... but now, look at him! <3 He can sing sweet melody songs too like... [Wherever You Are] or [My Sweet Baby]. Oh and, he has a very good English pronunciation! But back in 2008, also from JaME World interview, Taka said that he's not good at English but he's learning; how to pronounce words properly, the meanings etc. That was like 3 years ago! [Not Scared] is fully English! A lot of their songs contains a lot of English too~
Oh yeah! Why do I like these guys? Before I knew these guys were adorable-dorks which at times can be very hot and sometimes cute too... I fell heads over heels with their music. The song sounds meaningful somehow. The music struck me like a lightning. That voice of Taka's sounds unique (Toru, I fully understand why you chose Taka)... the more I listen to their songs, the more I read the lyrics, the more I love them to bits!
Only recently I look at them properly. I find Taka very crazy-cute. Tomoya and Ryota adorable-dorks. And Toru very attractive... and he can be equally crazy as the rest of the band. Heeeeeee~ <3
Tomorrow is their 5th Album release! ZANKYO REFERENCE~ Congratulations to ONE OK ROCK! They're growing... really fast.

Their new album was also overseen by Ted Jensen who is a Master Engineering at Sterling Sound in New York. This is EPIC COOLNESS!
I sure hope their new album comes out well. I have already heard their Promo Song [C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h] and it sounds promising. *dash out to scream "EPICNESS!"*
Please, please, please, I hope it will be released here in Malaysia~ Because I want to buy it and help it get up the charts and get the top spots! Get back awesome music back in Japan!
